Chili Cookoff & Bingo Night is Sun., Jan. 29, 5:30 p.m. Share your favorite chili recipe, have it judged by the distinguished Youth Group Taster Panel, and stay to play bingo for prizes.  This event is open to all church members and is a fundraiser for our 2012 Youth Mission Projects.

Confirmation Class begins Sun., Jan. 22, 6 p.m. Do you ever think, “What does it mean to be a Christian?” Do you ever wonder what Presbyterian really means? Come enjoy a potluck dinner and hear answers to these questions and more.  This class is open to all youth who in the 8th grade or older.

High School Winter Retreat on Mt. Hood

High School Winter Retreat on Mt. Hood, Fri., Jan. 13-Sun., Jan. 15. Our High School Youth will be taking time away from their busy lives to head up to the Son Lodge in Welches OR.  We’ll be joining the youth from Moreland Pres., Hillsboro Pres., Multnomah Pres., and Oak Hills Reformed for a great weekend of fellowship, fun, and snow games. And if you want to add to the excitement there will be sledding, skiing, and snowboarding!  The retreat will cost $60 (there is an extra cost if you want to ski or snowboard at Timberline).  Please download this brochure for more information. Middle School Youth to Serve at the Commons Homeless Shelter

Middle School Youth to Serve at the Commons Homeless Shelter, Fri., Jan. 13, 5-9 p.m., Moreland Presbyterian & Bud Clark Commons.  We’ll meet at Moreland to help make a hot meal, and then head to downtown Portland to the Bud Clark Commons to serve the meal to men staying at their shelter.  This is a great event and a safe way to do good works in our metropolitan area.  We need a couple of parents/adults willing to help with making the meal and carpooling kids to-and-from downtown Portland.

FESTAVOS Planning Meeting

The FESTAVOS Planning Meeting is at noon on Sunday November 27th in the Fireside Room. The success of FESTAVOS is more important than ever as MPC continues to deals with the effects of a struggling economy that impacts our ability to give to community organizations that so desperately need our help.
