Christmas Boxes

This Sunday’s focus is paper products and laundry soap. Cereal Sunday was great – we have 50 boxes of cereal. Start bringing food in and put it behind the screen in Schmidt Hall. Let Kelley know if you want to donate a specific item. We will be counting food each Sunday.
♥ Presents – Please remember to get gift receipts. We should have 20 more families this week. Kelley is getting wish lists.
♥ Cash – please mark checks Xmas boxes and place in the offering plate by Dec. 11.
♥ Stocking stuffers – need items for teenagers.
♥ Food – Items still needed—
♥ Spaghetti sauce and pasta.
♥ Chili and cornbread mix.
♥ Soups (hearty and lean).
♥ Canned meals – stew, ravioli, etc. for kid’s lunches.
♥ Jelly.
♥ Canned fruits. Applesauce
♥ Pancake mix and syrup.
♥ Cake mix and frosting.
♥ Oatmeal and a few more boxes of cereal.

The season is upon us-three weeks to go-delivery is Dec. 18. Next Sunday is paper products Sunday—toilet paper and paper towels. Mark checks for Christmas boxes. Pick up shopping lists in the Narthex.

Habitat for Humanity

Thanks to the congregation’s generosity, we made $200 during our fundraising in October for Habitat for Humanity.

FESTAVOS Planning Meeting

The FESTAVOS Planning Meeting is at noon on Sunday November 27th in the Fireside Room. The success of FESTAVOS is more important than ever as MPC continues to deals with the effects of a struggling economy that impacts our ability to give to community organizations that so desperately need our help.

Christmas Boxes

The season is upon us, with only 6 weeks to go until we deliver our Christmas Boxes to families in need. This week be on the look out for special deals on Christmas Dinner items. They will be on sale for Thanksgiving. You can pick up a shopping list in the Narthex.  If you would like to receive emails (beyond the Weekly) on special needs or timely sales email Linda Marquam. MPC Recognized by North Clackamas Schools

From Melissa Thompson, “Tonight (Weds. 10/20/2011), Milwaukie Presbyterian Church is being recognized by the North Clackamas School District for providing volunteers to the Backpack Buddy Program at Oak Grove Elementary. For the last 1.5 years, MPC members have packed food bags for children who need extra food in their households over the weekend when they aren’t getting free/reduced lunch at school. Thank you MPC volunteers!”

Presbyterian mission trip to repair homes in New Orleans
