Our Second Intergenerational Advent Event

Sunday 12/11 11:15 a.m. There will be simple refreshments, a few conversation questions, a story, and paper cranes.

Christmas Boxes

Christmas – it’s here – boxes go Dec 18th – This is the last Sunday. This is food Sunday – see list below for critical items. Let Kelley know if you want to donate a specific item. We will purchase items, but the less we have to purchase the more we can stretch our dollars. We will be counting food on Sunday.

Presents – Please remember to get gift receipts. We have 18 families left to adopt. Kelley is getting wish lists.

Cash – please mark checks Xmas boxes and place in the offering plate by Dec 11th. Stocking stuffers – need items for teenagers.

Food – Items needed (45 families, but numbers are adjusted because of family size). Every can helps to reduce the total amount we need to purchase – bring in 1 or 2 cans. It all adds up.

  • Canned fruits – need 120
  • Hearty Soups – need 150 regular cans
  • Lean Soup – need 100 regular cans
  • Chili – need 100
  • Canned meals – stew, ravioli, etc. for kid’s lunches – need 100 Jelly. – 27
  • Spaghetti pasta – need 40
  • Frosting for Cakes – need 30

Items donated or completed – peanut butter, tuna and tuna helper, oranges, cheese, yams, jello, marshmallows, spaghetti sauce, cereal, bread and rolls, Bob’s Red Mill soup and Dave’s Killer bread.

Thank you for pies for Portland Rescue Mission

Thank you to all who made or bought pies for the Portland Rescue Mission. They picked up 100 pies and we sent them $314 to purchase meals. Thanks again for your contributions to local mission. It does make a difference.

Join the youth to carol in the neighborhood, singing to our home bound members, and bringing good news of the holiday as we sing your favorite Christmas carols! This Sunday’s focus is paper products and laundry soap. Cereal Sunday was great – we have 50 boxes of cereal. Start bringing food in and put it behind the screen in Schmidt Hall. Let Kelley know if you want to donate a specific item. We will be counting food each Sunday.
